Welcome to Ennovus Solutions

Services

Ennovus Solutions offer the in-house turnkey implementation for renewable generation assets, such as solar PV and wind turbines, energy efficiency upgrades, such as LEDs and controls, and low carbon thermal technologies, such as heat pumps. Alongside turnkey implementation, our core specialisms include L1 and L2 energy audits in line with BS 16247 and ISO 50002, as well as feasibility studies or a Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) service.

Our Process

We have developed a structured and staged process to ensure that each project has technical and commercial viability before committing time and expense. The purpose of the staged approach is to ensure that any contract signed for the implementation of an asset is as accurate as possible so that projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and on-scope with zero incidents or accidents.

The first three stages can be considered as Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) studies, and will culminate in a ‘ready-to-build’ design, including the relevant planning and grid approval, which is managed by the dedicated in-house planning and grid specialists. Depending on the scope of the project, some stages can be accelerated, skipped, or even condensed into Stage 4. For example, roof mounted solar PV generally has a high degree of certainty and doesn’t require any upfront FEED work.

Scope & Options: During Stage One we will assess all possible generation opportunities across the site with the high-level key metrics displayed in a comprehensive report. As part of the assessment, we will also evaluate any potential hazards that might derail a project, such as flood zones or buried services. The key steps within Stage One are:

  • Scoping
  • Consumption & Rates
  • Site Maps and Data
  • Suitable Technologies
  • High-Level Outputs & Costs
  • Funding Options
  • Report & Recommendations

Technical Analysis: Following on from Stage One, the most viable system designs are refined and modelled using specific design software with the key performance and financial metrics being defined. Renewable generation, low carbon thermal, and energy efficiency measures are all considered in Stage Two. The key steps are:

  • Physical Site Surveys
  • System Concept Design
  • Budget Grid Connection
  • Pre-Planning Application
  • Indicative System Cost
  • Indicative Funding Offer
  • Report & Recommendations

Business Case: The most technically and commercially viable solution from Stage Two is built out into a full business case, culminating in a ‘ready-to-build’ asset. This includes the formal grid application, full planning permission, a multi-tender analysis, cashflow, and schedule. The key steps in Stage Three are:

  • Detailed Specialist Site Surveys
  • System Preliminary Design
  • Formal Grid Connection Application
  • Full Planning Application
  • Competitive Tender
  • Funding Offer
  • Report & Recommendations

Implementation: Complex projects will need to work through Stage One to Three before initiating the implementation phase, whereas more straightforward projects such as roof mounted solar or LED upgrades can be accelerated straight to the implementation phase. Ennovus Solutions will deliver the turnkey solution through the main key steps:

  • Contract Against Bid
  • Initiate & Manage
  • Detailed Design & Engineering
  • Procure & Ship
  • Install & Commission
  • Handover & Maintain
  • Project Close

Energy Audits

Why Energy Audits are important

Before starting on your implementation journey, our expert team of auditors can help you on the first steps on your drive to net zero by identifying areas of improvement. Alongside financial and energy savings, there are other benefits including regulatory compliance, for example ESOS and ISO 50001, enhanced comfort by improved working environments, and ongoing monitoring with any implemented measures monitored through continued engagement.

What does an Energy Audit involve

Our audit methodology aligns with British Standards (BS) and follows a structured approach starting with a planning phase to define the scope and objectives. During the audit we utilise the required data collection techniques which are then analysed to assess your business’s processes, controls, and compliance. We offer three levels of energy audits based on your site’s requirements.

Ideal for those organisations seeking a quick evaluation of their sites to help start and steer conversations about areas for improvement.

Ideal for meeting the standards for ESOS compliance. This builds upon the Level 1 Audit, with additional data analysis and calculations, as per ESOS requirements.

Ideal for organisations who are ready to make investments and require a deeper level of understanding of the options available for the selected main consumers and carbon emitters.

What areas are included in an Energy Audit

Our specialist team have a wealth of knowledge across all sectors, technologies, and processes. Some of the areas that we consider, but are not limited to, are lighting, insulation, heating, cooling, ventilation, management and controls, compressors, dryers, distribution pipework, renewable generation, metering, manufacturing processes, electrical distribution, as well as many more.

Why Ennovus Solutions

Our team bring a proven track record in energy auditing for commercial buildings. We work closely with you to understand your needs and deliver bespoke solutions through our audit reports. We are then able to work with you to develop and install the recommended solutions, through our in-house implementation team. This ensures a seamless transition from audit to action.

Funding

At Ennovus Solutions, we understand that the drive to net zero, whilst immensely important, can require significant investment. This is why alongside offering a capital project; we offer four different funding mechanisms to allow businesses to strive towards their carbon reduction and sustainability targets and goals without a substantial upfront payment.

The four funding solutions that we offer are:

  • Supply Contract Integration (SCI)
  • Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
  • Energy as a Service (EaaS)
  • Hire Purchase (HP)

The funding solutions will be structured such that the energy savings are greater than the monthly repayments, ensuring a net positive financial benefit from day one. This enables a business to commit to their net zero targets without needing the initial capital outlay, whilst reducing their operational spend through the energy savings, allowing investment into other areas of their business.

CDM 2015

What is CDM and why is it important

The Construction Design and Management Regulations or CDM 2015, enforced by HSE (Health and Safety Executive’s), are the leading regulations for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare during any construction project. CDM 2015 applies to all building and construction work, of any scale, including renewable generation assets such as solar PV and wind turbines.

There are six key roles within CDM, Client, Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Designer, Contractor, and Worker, each with their own legal duties as defined within the regulations.

CDM is very important as it provides a structured manner to identify health and safety risks and ensuring that the right measures are implemented to eliminate, mitigate, or control the identified risks. Alongside the risk mitigation, it also provides other benefits such as streamlined project management, through aligning all parties, and being critical for legal compliance.

All implementation projects with Ennovus Solutions will be conducted under CDM 2015, with health and safety at their core.

Ennovus will act as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor

During all projects, unless otherwise stated, Ennovus Solutions will act as the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor for the duration of the project. It is therefore Ennovus’ responsibility to plan, manage, monitor, and co-ordinate health and safety throughout the design or pre-construction and construction phase. This includes the management of any contractors, designers, or workers assigned to the project.
