Funding Options

Our Funding Options

At Ennovus Solutions, we understand the journey to net zero can require significant investment, which is why alongside a CAPEX solution we offer four different funding mechanisms.

  • Supply Contract Integration (SCI) – As part of the Consultus Group, we are in a unique position of offering Supply Contract Integration. If the client purchases their energy via Consultus, we can arrange with the supplier to add a small uplift onto their p/kWh import rate, typically ~ 1p/kWh, to provide a monthly revenue stream to repay the upfront investment cost.
  • Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) – This is typically a long-term arrangement, whereby the client pays for the units of energy produced via the generation asset.
  • Hire Purchase (HP) – A typical financing arrangement whereby the client pays for the asset via fixed monthly instalments. They take ownership of the asset at the end of the term but are responsible for the operation and maintenance from day one.
  • Energy as a Service (EaaS) – A very similar mechanism to HP; however, the asset is owned and operated by Ennovus Solutions during the term length and doesn’t appear on the client’s balance sheet.

With all our funding solutions we aim for the monthly repayments to be less than the energy savings such that the site receives a net positive financial benefit from day one.

How Does the Funding Work?

Each funding mechanism follows a similar process from the initial engagement through to the end of the term. Ennovus Solutions will design, install, and commission the renewable generation or energy efficiency asset without any capital expenditure.

Once installed, the asset will provide a reduction in grid electricity import, resulting in a lower operational expenditure and a reduced carbon footprint. The funding solutions will be structured such that the savings are greater than the repayments, meaning you will save money from day one, whilst also boosting your business’s green credentials.

Funding Solution

Through our in-house design and commercial team, we will develop a turnkey solution for the preferred funding model.

Installation and Commissioning

Once contracts have been exchanged, Ennovus will design and project manage the turnkey installation under CDM 2015, acting as both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.

Renewable Generation and Energy Savings

Following the installation and commissioning of the system you will immediately benefit from the on-site renewable generation or energy efficiency upgrades, providing energy savings as well as a reduced carbon footprint.

Savings and Repayments

The implemented asset will decrease the site’s electricity import and therefore bills, providing the client with energy and financial savings from day one. The repayments will be structured so that they are less than the savings, for an instant net positive benefit.

Operation and Maintenance

Ennovus will provide a suitable maintenance package and frequency. If Ennovus are the owner and operator of the asset this cost will already be included in the monthly repayments or funding term.

End of Term

At the end of the term, depending on the funding model, there could be options to either take full ownership of the asset, or extend the term, allowing Ennovus to continue to own and operate on the client’s behalf.
